About Us

The Guild Players have been meeting and performing in Finchley since 1946. The group is part of Finchley Methodist Church, but also has many members from the surrounding community and across the Borough of Barnet.

Over the years we have performed all types of drama - plays, comedies, thrillers, farce, promenade performances and musicals. Recently we have produced a pantomime once every two years. See the productions section of this website to see what we have done in the past.

The story behind the construction of the stage in Finchley Methodist Church Hall can be found on the history page.

We present two major productions each year in the autumn and spring. Performances generally run Thursday to Saturday (with the addition of a Saturday matinee for some productions). The autumn production starts rehearsing in September for performance in late November or early December. The spring production rehearses from January for performance in March or April. We sometimes stage a one night summer entertainment. Other activities include play reading evenings, training courses and social events.

Productions and events are planned by the committee which is elected each September at the Annual General Meeting of the members.

Any questions you might have about the Guild Players may well be answered on our Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.) page.
